Cream Cheese Cake

  • Bring cream cheese, butter, and eggs to room temperature for a smooth batter.
  • Avoid overmixing after adding flour to keep the cake tender.
  • Bake until just set in the center to prevent dryness.
  • Let the cake cool fully before slicing for clean cuts.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round or bundt pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve plain or topped with fruit sauce, glaze, or whipped cream.
