The Salted Lemon Air Purifier

1. Choose the lemons
Select lemons that are firm and bright yellow, as they contain the most juice and fragrance.

2. Prepare the base
Trim a small slice off the bottom of each lemon so they can stand upright.

3. Cut the lemon
Cut each lemon into four sections from the top, stopping about ¾ of the way down so the base remains intact.

4. Open gently
Carefully spread the sections slightly to expose the pulp.

5. Add the salt
Fill the center and cuts of the lemon with salt, ensuring it goes deep into the fruit.

6. Optional additions
Insert whole cloves into the pulp for extra fragrance.

7. Place and use

  • Set the lemons on a small plate to catch any juice.
  • Place the plate in a room with light airflow (near a window works well).
  • Replace every 3–5 days, or sooner if the scent fades.
