Introduction
Clove tea is a centuries-old herbal remedy, valued in traditional systems like Ayurveda for its powerful healing properties. Made from the dried flower buds of the Syzygium aromaticum tree, this warm and aromatic infusion is far more than just a beverage.
It serves as a natural tonic that supports digestion, strengthens the immune system, and delivers comfort in every cup.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (8 oz) freshly boiled water
- 3–5 whole cloves
Optional:
- 1 teaspoon raw honey or maple syrup
- A thin slice of fresh lemon
- A small cinnamon stick
Instructions
- Bring fresh, filtered water to a rolling boil.
- Lightly crush the cloves using a mortar and pestle (or the flat side of a knife) to release their essential oils.
- Place the crushed cloves into a mug or teapot.
- Pour the boiling water over the cloves.
- Cover the mug or teapot to trap steam and preserve the active compounds.
- Let steep for 5–7 minutes, depending on your preferred strength.
- Strain the tea into a cup.
- Add honey or lemon if desired, and enjoy warm.
